Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to our creative members. We have been overwhelmed by all the interest and support in the Stirling Street Arts Centre over the Bunbury Summer School period and are thrilled to see some of the students are now joining up as members to some of our membership groups. Payments are due by the end of April, so please see your group leaders or administration staff for your membership forms and parking permits.

We have a big year lined up on our calender, which you can find the list of events around the Centre, and on the Upcoming Events section on the back of this newsletter. Many of these events can’t happen on their own, so the staff and board members really do appreciate all the help of our fantastic members, even when it’s making sandwiches for events, or manning tables for fund raisers -- this really is a community centre!

The installation late last year of the solar panels means we can now provide you with air-conditioning at no cost to your group, so feel free to turn it on and cool down or warm up your studio rooms when required.

Bunbury Summer School 2016 wrap

BSS 2016 was a marvellous success. We had a big improvement on last year’s program with evening and weekend workshops. Enrolments jumped over last year’s numbers and we reached students all over the country, as well as someone from New Zealand. Lots of workshops were booked out and some workshops added another session due to popular demand!

Term 1 is now underway, and with everyone being inspired by the new year and Summer School, what a great way to keep it going with a Start Arts workshop! We have another great workshop from Pam Teede, and a Papercuts workshop with Kerry Gelmi. We are also introducing a new tutor, Denise Ladhams who is tutoring the Modern Mixed Media short course to really push your acrylic painting to the next level.

We have also combined forces with Denise’s Craftanoons initiative, creating an Open Studio type space where you can either come along and work on your arts and crafts projects, or be inspired by the monthly guest artist and work on a new project! These sessions are casual based and only $10 for the three hours. These will be happening every second Saturday of the month. Find out more information here.
